Because of the work we do on the topic of third-party reproduction—egg donation, sperm donation, and surrogacy—we are frequently contacted by those who have been affected by these practices. In late 2016, Jennifer Lahl, the Founder and President of The Center for Bioethics and Culture, was contacted by a woman whom we are calling Sandra in order to protect her anonymity, who wanted to share her perspective on egg donation.

As you will read in the ebook, Sandra has two sons, one of whom was born through egg donation. Her reflections on egg donation add to the very important conversations around and considerations regarding egg donation and third-party reproduction in important and valuable ways. We are grateful to be able to share her story.

Following Jennifer’s interview with Sandra, you fill find several additional resources on egg donation and third-party reproduction.

We trust that you will find this interview and these resources both helpful and useful. We hope that you will explore our website (cbc-network.org) for more information on the important bioethics issues that we address.
